When death comes

‌What’s the last thought I want to think before you die?

1. "So long and thanks for all the good times."

  • I want to be able to smile and not be afraid.
  • I want to say I was a good person.
  • I want to remember all the people who touched me.
  • I want to be thankful that I got the life to live that I did.
  • I want to say I retained a child-like curiosity.
  • I want to remember love is the answer to every question.

2. "I didn't leave too much of a mess."

I'm imagining the mess I'd leave if I died this week.

  • Mary will have to clean up whatever mess I leave and this will be stressful
  • all my Internet debris will be another mess
  • what to do with our young puppy
  • my collection of material collection from 65 years will need disposing
