Welcome back to this edition of the newsletter. We are getting
prepared to travel in St. Paul MN for the AAW conference. We hope to see
some of you there.
This newsletter links to our website where you will find the full
text with images for each article below. We are sure that you will be
interested in several of these features. Feel free to forward this on to
anyone who you think might be interested in our site.
* NEW PIECES--NEW PHOTOS
We've added 8 new
pieces on display. Will shows his latest open segmented series piece.
This is a Wenge and Bloodwood vessel with 386 pieces. Ben shows his
latest masterpiece that blends the softness of sandblasted redwood with
sharp hard ebony protrusions. Jim continues to explore the use of color
with an iridescent piece that simply glows. Along with several other
pieces, there is a huge spectrum of designs that we are proud to share
with you.

*HOLLOWING TOOL REVIEW
Bill Johnston (an Artist in Residence here at Kestrel Creek Gallery) has
written a review of the Johnston/Basham Hollow Turning Tool. This is a
great looking tool that he jointly developed with Al Basham. This is the
hollowing tool Bill uses to create his wonderful pieces. This tool is
very popular at Arrowmont and at Bill’s various teaching venues.
