Kestrel Creek Gallery Launches Its New On-line Gallery
MOSCOW, ID – May 1, 2000 – Kestrel Creek Gallery launches its new
on-line gallery, www.kestrelcreek.com,
which now offers the public, artists, art collectors and art patrons
an opportunity to communicate and view art on-line. The spectacular
growth of Internet commerce inspired three local artists to open an
on-line gallery to market art objects made of turned wood. Using
mostly local woods, Will Simpson, Ben Carpenter and Jim Christiansen
have participated in local, national and international exhibitions and
sales including the Pathways and East Meets West shows. These efforts
will continue but the three hopes to manage the majority of their
sales through their own gallery.
Currently the gallery contains pictures of the wood objects created by
each of the three artists and links for more detailed information on
the process and inspiration for this art. The works range from simple
wooden bowls to more elaborate wooden vessels requiring hundreds of
hours of handwork to shape and carve. In the future, the three plan to
host periodic juried shows on-line. Showing established talents in the
on-line gallery will make wood art available to a wide audience of
collectors. In the mean time visitors to the gallery will be able to
view over twenty-five objects in an ever-changing rotation of new
work.
The new site was named after the American Kestrel, the smallest and
the most abundant falcon in North America. The new Kestrel Creek
Gallery opened for business on April 25th.
Kestrel Creek Gallery is located in Moscow, Idaho. The gallery strives
to provide top quality wood art by regional artists. For additional
information on Kestrel Creek Gallery or the art that they offer visit
their Web site at www.kestrelcreek.com
